Richard Appelbaum is Professor of Sociology and Global and International Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara.

James Blascovich is Professor of Psychology at UC Santa Barbara, Jim earned his BS in psychology at Loyola University of Chicago (1968) and PhD in social psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno (1972).

Jon Cruz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and in the Department of Asian American Studies at UCSB.

Barbara Herr Harthorn, Principal Investigator and Director of the Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center: Center for Nanotechnology in Society (CNS) at University of California at Santa Barbara, is also Associate Professor of Women's Studies, and Co-Director of the Center for Global Studies in the Institute for Social, Behavioral and Economic Research.

George Legrady is Professor of Interactive Media, with joint appointment in the Media Arts & Technology program and the department of Art, UC Santa Barbara.

Alan Liu is a Professor in the English Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he has taught since 1988. His central interests include new media and information culture, British Romantic literature and art, literary theory, and cultural studies.

Patrick McCray is interested in the confluence of science and technology with politics and popular culture. Examples include: Science (physics, astronomy, and materials science mostly) and technology during the Cold War, especially nuclear and space related topics.

John Mohr is a Professor of Sociology at UC Santa Barbara. Professor Mohr research interests include organizational theory; sociology of culture; historical analysis; the welfare state; and qualitative/quantitative methods.

Constance Penley is a Professor of Film and Media Studies at UC Santa Barbara. Her major areas of research interest are film history and theory, feminist theory, cultural studies, contemporary art, and science and technology studies. She is a founding editor of Camera Obscura: Feminism, Media, Cultural Studies.

Dave Seibold is a Professor of Communication at UC Santa Barbara. Dave has published more than 100 research papers, and delivered more than 200 conference papers and scholarly presentations, in four areas that represent his continuing research interests: interpersonal influence, group, organizational, and applied communication.

Jacqueline Stevens teaches in the Law and Society Department at UC Santa Barbara. Professor Stevens writes about how laws create hereditary membership groups that seem to be natural. Her focus is on the role law plays in constituting the nation, ethnicity, race, family, kinship, and sexuality.

Cynthia Stohl is a Professor of Communication at UC Santa Barbara. Professor Stohl’s work connects several areas in organizational and group studies. She is concerned with the relationships among internal and external communication processes as they are manifest in global collaborations.

William Warner is a Professor and Chair in the English Department at UC Santa Barbara. His central interests include Eighteenth century British and American literature and cultural studies, the novel, literary and cultural theory, media studies, and law and literature (free speech and censorship).

Ben Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department at UC Santa Barbara. His research spans the areas of large scale networks and distributed systems, security and privacy, and mobile and wireless networks.
