Elizabeth Belding is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California of Santa Barbara and is a member of the is a CITS faculty steering committee. Professor Belding's research interests include Mobile Wireless Networking, Ad hoc and Mesh Networks, Multimedia Support, Quality of Service, Deployment and Monitoring and Network Adaptability. Professor Belding is also the director of the Mobility Management and Networking (MOMENT) Lab. Currently, there are two primary research emphases of the Lab. The first of these is deployment, measurement, and modeling of ad hoc and wireless mesh networks. The MOMENT group has created a 30 node wireless mesh testbed at UCSB, called the UCSB MeshNet, for the purpose of rapid prototyping of solutions, monitoring of user behavior, and studying wireless network deployment issues. The second research emphasis of the MOMENT Lab is on Quality of Service support for mobile networks.
